Discover the Remarkable Journey of a Sugar Grove Treasure

Join the Sugar Grove Historical Society for a special viewing of The Many Lives of the Bliss House, a video chronicling the extraordinary story of our town’s oldest and most beloved landmark.

Author and Historian Janie Lynn Panagopoulos will facilitate her video, and Preservationist Barb Hollmier will dive deeper into this story during a Q&A session.

The 180-year-old Bliss House was built in 1838 for P.Y. Bliss. It was moved from its original location on the corner of Bliss and Merrill Roads across Bliss Road in 1896, and finally, 100 years later, to its current location at 259 Main Street, where it proudly stands as a symbol of community spirit and historical preservation.

Now serving as the home of the Sugar Grove Historical Society, the Bliss House is a witness to our shared past. It was the site of the area’s first church gatherings, a local mercantile, and a gathering place that brought our community together for generations.

Come be inspired by this powerful story of resilience, community, and heritage. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the heart of Sugar Grove’s history and the people who fought to keep it alive.

Presented in partnership with the Sugar Grove Historical Society, https://www.sugargrovehistory.org/.
