Railway historian Leo Phillipp will discuss the history of the railroad in Sugar Grove, including the beginnings of the line that would become the Burlington Northern, the Zephyrs, the freight lines, the head on collision, and the railroad spur by Waubonsee. Phillipp, a Burlington Route Historical Society Board Member and VP of Outreach and Education, has almost 50 years experience working for the railroads.
