AARP Driver Safety

The AARP Safe Driver program is a two-part class. To receive your certificate of completion, you must attend the four-hour sessions on both days. Registration priority will be given to Sugar Grove cardholders until Saturday, Dec. 6.

If you have an AARP membership, please bring it with you. The course is $20 for AARP members and $25 for nonmembers, payable to the instructor on the first day of class. The Library will not handle payment for this class.

In this class, you will:

  • Learn about skills and strategies you can use on the road every day
  • Discover defensive driving techniques to help you deal with aggressive drivers
  • Explore local laws and traffic rules for drivers
  • Get tips for proper maintenance of your vehicle so it’s safe before you drive.

Leah Richards from 360 Yoga in Plano will lead a 50-minute chair yoga class. She has been a certified yoga instructor since August 2013, Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Illinois since August 2016 and a Reiki Master/Practitioner since November 2013.

Her mission is to make yoga accessible to all different shapes, sizes, and ages. Being plus-size and living with a few medical conditions (Hashimoto’s disease, Narcolepsy, Fibromyalgia, and a severe vitamin D deficiency), she understands and respects everyone’s level of practice is different and offers many different variations of the different poses so everyone is successful in class.
